the cornerstones

"In the spring of 2022, inspired and guided by the magical energy of Teotihuacan, I recognized these foundational areas of practice that had been crucial to my own personal journey, as well as the work I was doing with others. Intuitively, I began referring to them as the Cornerstones."

AJA

The Cornerstones consist of four simple areas of practice. Invest in them consistently and they create the conditions for a whole new way of living to blossom. No fancy philosophy. No gimmicks. Just honest, intentional effort and life-changing results.

Mindfulness & Meditation

The First Cornerstone is all about slowing down and finding center. Maybe that's a meditation practice. Maybe it's some mindful breathing here and there. Maybe it's yoga or a walk in the woods. Whatever helps you slow down, get grounded, and settle into yourself, that's what we're looking for here. Whatever helps you be a little less narrative-oriented and a little more present is going to be an investment in the First Cornerstone.

Stalking & Journaling

The Second Cornerstone of Stalking & Journaling is all about paying attention to your personal experience and collecting data. Your thoughts, your emotions, your behaviors, your reactions. Whatever catches your attention, take a snapshot. Don’t judge it. Don't try to figure it out. Just notice stuff and take notes. If we’re patient and persistent, like a jungle cat stalking its prey, patterns will start to reveal themselves and truths will become undeniable.

Community Cultivation

The Third Cornerstone of Community Cultivation is all about relationships. What we invest in them and what they provide us in return. Ideally we're beginning to invest our time and energy in folks who are like-hearted and share similar visions and aspirations. People who see and support the most authentic version of us. And with that kind of community around us, living the life we want becomes more than possible. It becomes inevitable.

Self-Care & Self-Celebration

The Fourth Cornerstone of Self-Care & Self-Celebration is about taking care of ourselves and celebrating our growth. We explore and discover what fills our tanks. We recognize our needs and meet them. And then we celebrate our wins, big and small. The Fourth Cornerstone is about acknowledging our worth and acting accordingly.

“When we intentionally invest our attention, energy, and effort in these areas of practice, we are able to create an experience of life that honors who and what we really are.”
